This portrait is based on a photograph of me, taken by my husband, over 30 years ago, on our honeymoon. The image was drawn on illustration board and marked with a grid of 1/2” squares. Each square was painted separately with 3-6 different colors. These colors, painted next to, or near each other, are perceived by the viewer as one color. It is a phenomenon called Optical Color Mixing.
